Working in teams or individually, HackFest is for people with a mixture of skills including community members, entrepreneurs, developers, designers, digital media creators, artists, story tellers, researchers and open data enthusiasts, to hack - “take something and make it better” and create an outcome over an entire weekend.

Who can participate?
Anyone. Although there are some conditions to be eligible for a prize. (refer to the Participants Guide)
What if I'm not very technical or experienced?
HackFest is for everyone. Participants usually team up with others. A strong team is made with a range of skills.
Does it cost anything to participate?
No. Entry is free.
Will there be free food?
Yes. Food & coffee will be provided throughout the event.
What do I need to bring?
Your laptop (or desktop pc), power cables, headphones, phone & charger. Wifi, desks & chairs will be provided.
If you don't have access to a laptop but still want to participate please get in touch with the HackFest team at hackfest@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au.
Do I need to stay the entire time?
No. Come and go during the venue opening hours as you like.
Can I participate remotely?
Yes. You can register online and participate remotely.
